The Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS) was founded on October 12, 1968.
The objective was to assist in the development of facilities for diagnosis and treatment of cancer, to educate the public on the problems of cancer, and to conduct research in all aspects of cancer.
The Nigerian Cancer Society is a full member of the Union for International Cancer Control UICC , comprising of 1158
members, 58 sponsors/partners, and spread across 172
countries.
This simply means that the UICC “feeds” the Nigerian Cancer Society NCS.
At their website, UICC claims it provides learning and development opportunities for members, fosters learning culture across the cancer community, encourages collaboration and offers a range of knowledge sharing opportunities.
